Hi all. This week’s update is full of reminders! I hate to do this so early in the season, but it seems necessary after this past week.

Observe pickup hours

Both Tuesday and Friday pick ups start promptly at 2 p.m. and end promptly at 7 p.m. This gives the farm staff time to get the shares harvested, washed, and displayed, and also allows them time to eat lunch and rest after working so hard to prepare your share.

This includes PYO

On pickup days, we try to close the deer fence at 7 p.m. By this time, we farmers have been working for 12 hours! Plan to get into the fields to start Pick-Your-Own (PYO) so you are finished no later than 7 pm. If you can’t complete your PYO on your pickup day, you can come the following day, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. This means that Tuesday sharers can complete PYO on Wednesday and Friday sharers can complete PYO on Saturday.

Bring your own containers

Our once huge supply of donated back up containers is gone after last week. Please bring your own quart and pint containers for measuring the proper quantity of Pick-Your-Own crops.

Be on time for work hours

We love having your help at the farm when you come in to complete your work hours! Please respect the farm and the community’s time— and help make everything run smoothly—by arriving promptly at start time (as listed on our website). We need you to arrive 5 minutes before the start of your shift, ready to go: many people have been arriving instead as much as 20 minutes late. Children under the age of 13 should not be brought along to complete work hours unless they can truly handle two hours of focused and repetitive work.

Thank you for your support for the farm and our community!

Be well,

Mel
