Are you sad that the summer share season will end in October? Will you miss coming to the farm on a regular basis? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you may want to buy a winter share this year.

What: The share will include root vegetables, winter squash, and fresh greens (spinach, kale/collards).

When: The winter share consists of two pickups (scheduled for 11/15 and 12/13; dates are somewhat weather dependent, but if dates are moved they will definitely be before Thanksgiving and Christmas). Winter share pickups take only a few minutes, since most of the produce is pre-boxed and you just have to move it into your own bags. There are usually some items that require weighing, but there is no PYO.

How much: Shares will cost $100 and will go on sale for Stearns Farm members in September. Shares will be sold to the general public in October.

Buying a winter share is a great way to stay connected to the food you eat and the farm community for a little while longer, before winter really sets in.
