She’s a petite woman with a bright smile, twinkling eyes, and seemingly boundless energy. She speaks only Chinese, but her enthusiasm is self-evident, and the language barrier doesn’t prevent her from sharing her deep knowledge of farming with the crew. Xingqin (pronounced Yinchin) Zhang is one of Stearns Farm’s most dedicated volunteers. She spends hours working in our fields, weeding, harvesting, planting–doing whatever is needed quickly and efficiently. Xingqin was born on a farm in Suzhou, Anhui province, in China and worked in healthcare after her marriage. Not only does she work faster than most people half her age, she also brings the crew delicious dishes she makes with farm produce. Thank you, Xingqin, for being part of Stearns Farm.
