The Framingham Friends Meeting will celebrate its 50th birthday with a party for the entire surrounding community on Saturday June 4, from 1 to 4 PM.
Come to the Stearns Farm CSA Spring Festival for lunch and orientation, and then cross the street to join the local Quaker group at their “Friendly Fair” for a fun and family-friendly afternoon. A variety of activities are planned, including live music, a performance by the Tanglewood Marionettes, and a chance to hear about the production of a Quaker music video that went “viral”. There will be games and activities for children, and a chance to tour the historic meetinghouse. Information from community organizations and local and national Quaker groups will be available. And, of course, there will be birthday cake!
It’s worth a visit just to see this gem of a building in Framingham. Located at 841 Edmands Road, the former #7 schoolhouse, was built in 1839 and moved up the hill to its current location in 1964. It has been used as the Friends Meetinghouse since then. More information about the Friendly Fair is available at neym.org/FFM.
