Stearns Farm will kick off the 2016 summer season with our annual Spring Festival and orientation for new sharers on Saturday June 4.

New sharers can choose from two 30-minute orientation programs, at 11 am or 1 pm. All new sharers are required to attend an orientation to learn about the pickup process and farm safety.

In between orientation sessions, join us for a potluck lunch at noon. Bring a dish that will serve eight, along with a card that lists the ingredients in your recipe. Meet other sharers; hear from Melanie Hardy, Stearns Farm manager, and Nomi Sofer, board president; and enjoy the food and company.

The 11 am orientation will be followed by a half-hour tour of the farm. A craft program will be offered in the Children’s Garden during the 1 pm orientation for children ages 4 and up).

If any new sharers are unable to attend either of the June 4 orientation programs, Melanie will offer alternate sessions on the first pickup dates, at a time to be determined.

For sharers attending the potluck lunch, please remember that Stearns Farm has a “carry in, carry out” policy. There are no trash or recycling facilities on the farm. Bring your own dishes, cups, utensils and napkins, and take everything with you when you leave.

And before you head home, cross the street and join our neighbors at the Friends Meeting House. The Framingham Friends Meeting is celebrating its 50th anniversary with an afternoon of music, games and activities from1-4 pm.

We look forward to seeing you on June 4!
