Winter shares are still available for purchase in the Stearns Farm online store. Order now to continue to enjoy delicious organically-grown vegetables during the holiday season. Please also spread the word to your friends and neighbors.
The winter share is distributed in two monthly pickups—one each in November and December. The share typically consists of root vegetables (onions, potatoes, beets, carrots, parsnips, celeriac), cabbage, and winter squash that are grown during the summer and stored in our root cellar, as well as fresh greens (spinach, kale, collards). This year’s winter share includes Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes.
Pickups for the 2016 winter share are currently scheduled scheduled for Saturday, 11/19 and Saturday, 12/17, between 10 am-2 pm. These dates are somewhat weather dependent, but if we have to change them, they will definitely be before Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you are unable to pick up during these hours due to religious observance or other factors, please contact Mel at firstname.lastname@example.org to make alternative pickup arrangements.
The winter share costs $110, and there is no work requirement.
Visit the Stearns Farm online store to purchase your share. A winter share is a great way to try a CSA and get a taste of our harvest, so please pass along this post. You can also distribute our winter share flyer. Thank you for spreading the word!
