We’ve been having lots of nature appreciation moments in the farm, mostly involving bird watching, but we love reptiles, too. The bird list so far has included cat birds, house finches, orioles, a ruby throated hummingbird, a huge woodpecker, a blue jay mimicking a red tailed hawk’s cry, red tailed hawks, killdeer, barn swallows, goldfinches, sparrows, and cardinals. Things are sizing up in the fields! These little heads of lettuce will become loose leaf lettuce.
