Eleven international students from Framingham State University toured Stearns Farm in late June with their instructor, sharer Susan Klein. The field trip capped a summer session where the students learned about topics including American slow food movement champion Alice Waters as well as vocabulary related to vegetables, gardening, farming and cooking.

The students, from ’China, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Brazil, are participants in FSU’s Intensive English Language Program Intermediate Listening & Speaking class. They enjoyed practicing their English with volunteer guide Amy Weader and several of the farm workers. The tour ended with an end-of-term celebratory picnic at the farm.
