If you have administrative, customer service, or bookkeeping experience, join the dedicated team that keeps Stearns Farm operating smoothly! Our longtime administrative assistant, Frann Bennett, is retiring. We’re taking the opportunity to redesign the role and split it into two positions: Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant.

Bookkeeper

The person in this position will perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping of all farm financial matters using QuickBooks. This includes payroll processing, account reconciliation, A/P and A/R, collections and general accounting duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will be an expert user of QuickBooks, flexible, a problem-solver, and have a strong customer-service orientation.

Compensation: Summer share (size of your choice) + winter share. This is a year-round position, with considerable seasonal variation in the workload.

To apply, send a resume and cover letter to board member Jill Boyd, jaboyd6@outlook.com.

Administrative Assistant

The person in this role is the face of the farm (along with the farm manager). She or he answers email and voicemail daily, responds to inquiries and/or directs messages to the appropriate recipient. Other duties include creating and maintaining sharer membership lists and checklists (for work hours, sharer type, fruit share, etc.), maintaining the member database, and supporting the farm manager, volunteer coordinator, and board members occasionally. The administrative assistant also receives and distributes incoming mail.

The ideal candidate has a strong commitment to customer service, is patient, flexible, and willing to explain and enforce farm policies. The person in this job must be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel). Familiarity with WordPress a plus, but not required. She or he will be able to respond to email in a timely manner.
