The strong spring sunshine is warming up the ground and getting ready to welcome the new season’s arrivals. Tina Marcus, returning as part of the Work for Share crew, gives us a quick update on what’s steeping in Penelope’s Garden this year.
In addition to the numerous varieties of medicinal and culinary plants calling the space home – comfrey, mugwort, kapoor tulsi, chamomile, lavender, several kinds of mint (including our very own Stearns variety!) and many more – Tina is introducing a few more herbs in 2021.
Joining the garden this year is the California poppy, yarrow, arnica and catnip (so our feline companions can also enjoy the farm’s bounty). Tina also hopes to have lots of additional starts in time for the Annual Seedling Sale, ready for transplant.
Penelope’s Garden is located across from the pick up pavilion, its entrance marked with the flags crafted by some of our members last season.
