On a recent sunny Saturday afternoon, I had the opportunity to explore another beautiful Sudbury Valley Trustees property. Spanning three towns and hundreds of acres, the many trails of Cedar Hill and Sawink Farm are an ideal way to spend the day and enjoy a picnic surrounded by songbirds and native flora.
Parking at 360 Cedar Hill St. (stay on the left side of the lot), it took a few minutes to locate the marked entrance to the Cedar Hill Swamp trail. During a nearly three-hour hike, I crossed wetlands, forests, meadows and an aqueduct. I can’t wait to go back since there is much more to explore. Remember to pack water, bug repellent, sunscreen and a few snacks, as there are plenty of shaded spaces to stop for impromptu al fresco dining.
