Calling all 2023 PYO Flower & Herb sharers! A surprise late-spring frost changed the usual start time but the wait is (almost) over. Grab your sunhats, scissors and sunscreen and let’s get to picking!
First week of PYO Flower & Herb Shares:
Saturday pickup – July 15th
Tuesday pickup – July 18th
Friday pickup – July 21st
When you first arrive at the farm, visit the pavilion to check in with the attendant. New sharers will get a tour of the Pick Your Own gardens and receive instructions on how to select their share. Returning folks can check in and proceed with picking their share.
Remember to bring your own scissors, and a couple of small containers or bags for herbs if you wish. I like to bring a few paper lunch bags (or bigger) and a pen or marker to write which herbs are in which bags. This makes it much easier when sorting the bunches out to dry at home. In addition, each sharer will be provided with a mason jar for their flowers.
The share will run for 10 weeks, rain or shine. However, if the weather for your pickup day is a total wash out, please email Ember (farmer@stearnsfarmcsa.org) to reschedule.
