Assistant Grower: This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal, exempt position.
The assistant grower will work closely with the manager and assistant manager. They will play an important role in assisting with harvest, wash and pack, weeding, planting, greenhouse seeding, and other farm tasks as needed.
Location: Stearns Farm 862 Edmands Rd, Framingham, MA
Dates: ASAP – October 30th, 2025
The schedule will be the following days/hours (including 1hr paid lunch):
- April: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8-4
- Mid-June – October: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 7-4
- Some Saturdays in May during our seedling sale
This position offers the following compensation package:
- Hourly pay rate of $20/hr. Paid on a bi-weekly basis
- Workers’ compensation in the event of injury
- A CSA farm share
Qualifications:
- Have a strong work ethic, be attentive to details, and be able to communicate clearly
- Willing to work in all kinds of extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow)
- Works well with others in a team and remains self-motivated when working alone
- Must be punctual and have reliable transportation to get to the farm
- Open to constructive criticism and feedback
- A desire to strive for efficiency
- A valid driver’s license
- The ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly
- The ability to work on their knees for extended periods of time
