Hello newsletter readers! My name is Melina List, and I am the new communications manager here at Stearns Farm. It is a pleasure to virtually make your acquaintances!

Starting this week I will be putting together the Stearns newsletter, posting on our social media pages (check out our Instagram and Facebook), and taking photos around the farm. My family have been sharers at Stearns for the past several years now, and I often tell people that the farm is my favorite place in town. Also this week, I am graduating from Emerson College with a degree in Community Building and Storytelling. At Emerson, I spent several years as the Co-President for Advocacy at Access: Student Disability Union, and I recently founded the Framingham Disability Cultural Series as a part of my senior capstone.

I am so grateful to be taking on this role. Serving in a Work-For-Share position has been a goal of mine for a long time, and the serendipity of this opportunity arising just as I graduate is still baffling—as I told a friend when describing this next venture, sometimes things just work out. I am incredibly passionate about environmental stewardship and knowing where our food comes from, and as a lifelong Framingham resident, I consider Stearns to be one of our premiere community organizations.

Weronika Zawora, the prior newsletter editor, has been a marvelous teacher during my transition into this role. As everyone familiar with her work knows, I have big shoes to fill. Luckily for all of us, Weronika will still be around the farm on occasion.

If you have any stories, recipes, or photos you’d like to share in the newsletter or on our social media, please email them to me at news@stearnsfarmcsa.org.
