Stearns Farm CSA

The end of 2020 is here and with it, a time for reflection. We look back with recognition and gratitude while setting our sights to the months ahead:

• Without healthy soil, we cannot enjoy the bounty. Ember explains why this year's fundraiser is an investment in us all.

• The Board of Directors highlights how well Ember, Kerry and the rest of the Stearns crew navigated this season's many challenges.

• All are welcome to stop by and shop during the Winter Share pickup this Saturday!

• Don't miss the last call for the Stearns Farm Cookbook recipe submissions.

• Orange you glad the days start getting longer next week? In the meantime, try these two sun-colored sides.

Happy Holidays, Happy New Year and wishes of joy, well-being and peace to all! See you next month and stay healthy, safe and warm!

In Your Share This Week

The second Winter Share pick up is this Saturday, December 19th from 10am-2pm. If you still have one, don't forget to return the box from the first pickup.

Although the crops listed on this page represent what the farmer anticipates will be available this week, the vegetables you receive may be different due to weather conditions and other factors that affect production. For an overview of the ebb and flow of the harvest throughout the season, check out the Harvest Chart.

Update On Fundraising Efforts

Update On Fundraising Efforts

Thank you so much to those of you who have supported our fundraising efforts so far. Your contributions will make it possible for Stearns to purchase nearly 120 yards of organic compost! The addition of quality compost to our fields will be an important first step in giving back to our soil, but we have many more steps to take before our work is done.

Eat Your Share

Are you feeling squash fatigue? Thankfully, this versatile veggie can be used in many different ways...including cheese dip!

Another delicious entry from sharer Nicci Meadow, the Buttercup Salsa Cheese Dip is exactly that. Prefer a different gourd? Try this recipe with a butternut, acorn or kabocha squash instead.

The Maple-Glazed Carrots are ready in under 15 minutes, call for only five ingredients and of course, taste best with the locally-sourced Harms Family Farm maple syrup we sell at Stearns.

We look forward to discovering your favorite recipes - so share them here to be included in our upcoming Stearns Farm cookbook.
