We spring ahead to a week as busy as our farm bees - Daylight Savings, St. Patrick's Day, the first day of Spring and much news to share:

• If you need assistance paying for a share this year, we now offer a Subsidized Share option.

• This week, we're celebrating and commemorating with a salad and a stew.

Here Comes the Sun

I’m so grateful for this time of year! It’s why I love living in a place with four seasons. The weather warms up, the birds return, the ground begins to thaw, buds form on the trees - there is an energy in the air that is infectious. As the sunlight returns more and more each day and melts the snow, I begin to imagine plants in the fields soaking up the warmth and energy of the rays. Some of you may be wondering when you can begin the wonderful work of preparing your own gardens.

Share the Love with a Gift of Flowers and Herbs

A great addition to one of our standard produce shares, the Flower and Herb Share also makes an ideal gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries and "just because".

Work for Share Opportunities

There are several work-for-share spots available for the 2021 season. The positions require a 13-week or 20-week commitment during the summer and fall (typically from mid-June through September) in exchange for one summer share.

2021 Subsidized Share Program

We are working to make Stearns Farm CSA shares accessible to everyone in our community. We invite anyone who is facing hardship or is in need of financial assistance to fill out a request form for our 2021 subsidized CSA shares. The information you share with us will remain confidential and we won’t ask for any documentation.

Eat Your Share

March 15th is also known as the Ides of March so what better time to share an easy recipe for a Vegan Caesar Salad.

This wholly plant-based salad has all the tangy flavor and creamy yet crunchy texture that you would encounter in a traditional Caesar. It gets even better when topped with croutons, capers and avocado.

On Wednesday, many will be celebrating St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. This year, join the festivities and try a Traditional Irish Stew. Grab your Dutch oven and get ready for one savory stew!
