Happy Summer Solstice to all! The year's longest day brings lots of sunshine, plenty of heat and the following news from Stearns:

Classic Harvest take 11, Farmer’s Choice take 9: Kale/collards/Swiss chard choice, garlic scapes, cabbage, peas, head lettuce, scallions, beets, radish/bok choy choice, escarole, kohlrabi, spinach/loose lettuce choice, fennel/parsley choice.

Eat Your Share

Ember's enthusiastic endorsement of fennel in this week's From the Field has convinced me to finally give it a go. I think the sweetness of roasted beets combined with the tartness of goat cheese might be the perfect introduction I've been waiting for in these Roasted Beet Sandwiches with Ginger, Fennel & Goat Cheese.

I love garlic and I love a good dip. Why choose? This week, I found two recipes that combine the best of both for what I'm calling Garlic Scape Goodness.
